The preview

Predict and Last Man Standing opened on Tuesday 27 October for the weekend of 30 October to 2 November. Last Man Standing locks at 8PM on Friday, when Sheffield United v Wrexham kicks off, a day before the Premier League starts. Predict's first match, Chelsea v Manchester United, is at 12:30 on Saturday, and that's also when the Golden Result locks. The clocks went back on Sunday, so all these kickoff times are now GMT.

Manchester City's perfect start ended at Aston Villa last week, and they and Arsenal are now level on 21 points at the top. The two big games of the round are City v Brighton, with Brighton third on 16, and Liverpool v Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday.

Below is Predicts10's own call on all ten fixtures, with the reasoning. We got 2 of 10 results right last week, and you can check the record on the Gameweek 8 preview. As ever, nothing about how the crowd is leaning appears until each fixture locks.

Chelsea FCCFSat, Oct 31, 12:30 PMMUManchester United FC

Chelsea have conceded 15 in eight and lost 2-0 at home to Tottenham last week, but they have scored 17. United have won once in eight and were beaten 3-0 at home by Bournemouth.

Our call2 - 1

United have been unable to turn draws into wins, and Chelsea should score at home, but they rarely keep a clean sheet either.

Final score: 2-0 - we got the result right.

Brentford FCBFSat, Oct 31, 03:00 PMNFNottingham Forest FC

Brentford have drawn five of eight and lost only once, to Liverpool, and were held 1-1 at Hull last week. Forest are 18th with one win and have scored just six goals in eight games.

Our call2 - 0

Forest score too rarely to be trusted away from home, and Brentford have enough goals in them to convert a draw into a win.

Final score: 2-0 - we called it exactly.

Manchester City FCMCSat, Oct 31, 03:00 PMB&Brighton & Hove Albion FC

City lost for the first time this season, 2-1 at Aston Villa, but have won their last two home games, 5-3 and 3-2, both while conceding. Brighton have scored 23, the most in the division, but lost 2-0 at Liverpool last week, ending a run of four straight wins.

Our call2 - 1

A City side stung by their first defeat, at home, against a Brighton team that just lost for the first time in five.

Final score: 0-1 - we missed it.

Hull City AFCHCSat, Oct 31, 03:00 PMITIpswich Town FC

Hull have drawn each of their last three home games, 0-0 with Villa, 2-2 with Everton and 1-1 with Brentford, and four of eight overall. Ipswich have won three of eight and drew 1-1 with Nottingham Forest last week.

Our call1 - 1

Hull can't stop drawing at home, and Ipswich have conceded in every game of their last five.

Final score: 2-2 - we got the result right.

AFC BournemouthABSat, Oct 31, 03:00 PMLULeeds United FC

Bournemouth won 3-0 at Manchester United last week for their first away win of the season. Leeds have drawn five of eight, including a 0-0 at Sunderland last time out, and lost only once.

Our call1 - 1

Leeds draw more than anyone, and Bournemouth have won only once at home all season.

Final score: 2-0 - we missed it.

Coventry City FCCCSat, Oct 31, 03:00 PMSASunderland AFC

Coventry have won two and lost six, and were beaten 1-0 at home by Fulham last week, having scored in only one of their last three home games. Sunderland are bottom on five points, and last week's 0-0 draw with Leeds ended a run of four straight defeats.

Our call1 - 0

Two of the weakest defences in the division, but Coventry are at home and Sunderland have scored in only one of their last five.

Final score: 3-1 - we got the result right.

Tottenham Hotspur FCTHSat, Oct 31, 05:30 PMCPCrystal Palace FC

Tottenham have won back to back, 3-1 over Coventry and 2-0 at Chelsea, after a winless start. Palace have conceded 19, the most in the division, and were beaten 2-0 at home by Newcastle last week.

Our call2 - 1

Spurs have found their feet, and Palace's defence is the weakest in the division, though they can score.

Final score: 2-0 - we got the result right.

Aston Villa FCAVSat, Oct 31, 08:00 PMFFFulham FC

Villa have won their last two, 1-0 at Newcastle and 2-1 over Manchester City. Fulham have also won back to back, 1-0 over Hull and 1-0 at Coventry, their first two wins of the season.

Our call2 - 1

Villa have beaten the league leaders and Fulham are still thin on goals, so Villa should edge a tight one at home.

Final score: 1-1 - we missed it.

Liverpool FCLFSun, Nov 1, 04:30 PMAFArsenal FC

The game of the round. Liverpool are fourth on 15 points and have won their last two, 2-1 at Brentford and 2-0 over Brighton. Arsenal have won seven of eight, conceded only five goals all season, and are level on 21 points with Manchester City.

Our call1 - 1

Neither side loses often, and two sides this close in the table at Anfield are likelier to cancel each other out than for either to run away with it.

Final score: 0-1 - we missed it.

Newcastle United FCNUMon, Nov 2, 08:00 PMEFEverton FC

Newcastle won 2-0 at Crystal Palace last week after three defeats in the previous four. Everton have lost their last two, 2-0 to Chelsea and 2-0 to Arsenal, scoring in neither.

Our call2 - 0

Everton have not scored in their last two games, and Newcastle are at home with some momentum back.

Final score: 0-1 - we missed it.
